City of Winooski Volunteer Spotlight: Sophie and Kaysie

VolunteerSpotlight

Thanks to our amazing Volunteer Coordinator and AmeriCorps VISTA member, Olivia Miller, the City of Winooski will be taking time to highlight our incredible volunteers!

The City of Winooski offers a number of volunteer opportunities that provide meaningful experiences at the Winooski Memorial Library, the Winooski Senior Center, through our Recreation and Parks programs, at the Community Justice Center, and more.

Our first spotlight recognizes Sophie and Kaysie who are UVM Secondary Education students completing field placement work at the Winooski Memorial Library. They spend each Thursday afternoon helping to facilitate Writing Club (3 PM - 4 PM), a club for kids of all ages to come and engage in various writing prompts, activities, and projects. Both Sophie and Kaysie are engaging, dedicated and adept at connecting with children. It's evident that they both value children's interests and abilities as creative, growing writers.

Thank you for your service, Sophie and Kaysie!
