Overview
The Parks and Open Space Master Plan is a community-driven master plan for the City of Winooski’s parks and open spaces that may help guide future long-term decisions for Winooski’s public spaces. The plan will tentatively create equitable and connected public space, with the goal of having a park within a ten-minute walk of every resident.
The plan is being led by the City of Winooski in partnership with Omnes, a landscape architecture, planning, and art studio based in the historic mill town of Easton, Pennsylvania. Omnes will guide the four-month planning process, which will include four public engagement sessions. The planning process is community-driven, with the voices of all informing strategies for both improvement and implementation of new parks within the City.
Public input opportunities for this project are announced via the City’s news updates. To sign up for these updates, click here. Can’t make a public input meeting?
Email your questions and comments to be included via this address: info@omnes.studio
The project is generously funded through a grant awarded to the City of Winooski by the National Recreation and Parks Association. To learn more about Omnes and their mission, visit omnes.studio/about.

City of Winooski Awarded NRPA 10-Minute Walk Grant
The City of Winooski is proud to announce that it is one of ten communities nationwide selected to receive $40,000 in grant funding from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) as part of its national 10-Minute Walk campaign. The 10-Minute Walk campaign – led by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), The Trust for Public Land (TPL), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) – is funded by the JPB Foundation and aims to address the fact that one in three Americans don’t have a park within a 10-minute walk (or half-mile) of home.
Funds received through the grant will help the City of Winooski to develop a comprehensive Parks and Open Space Plan, including improving access and connectivity between City parks and developing plans to make one of Winooski’s parks universally accessible for all visitors regardless of their age, size, ability or disability.
