Children and Family Programs
COVID-19 Notice
Upon program re-opening, Thrive will be taking health precautions outlined by the state of VT and the Winooski School District to ensure the safety of all children and staff. This will include group sizes of no more than 10 people, no large-group activities, daily health screenings and temperature checks, regular cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces and materials, and the use of facial coverings and physical distancing. All camp activities will be conducted outside when possible.
About our Program
Thrive After School is a state-licensed, 3 STAR childcare/enrichment program. Through our partnership with JFK Elementary School and the Winooski School District, we seek to build a community where children can explore, learn, and grow during their after school hours while providing a safe place for children. This program is perfect for caring adults who support working families. Our daily structure provides children with opportunities to expand on the learning that takes place during the school day and allows them to explore and grow through play-based, hands-on learning. We have opportunities for outside time and other gross-motor play, imaginative play, STEM learning, art, literacy, skill-building activities, and exploring hobbies and interests. We also use this time in our program community to guide children’s social development with the language of Social Thinking as used during the school day, allowing children to practice what they have been learning socially in their classrooms.
Thrive 2020 - 2021 Registration Now Open
This school year, children can attend Thrive After School 2 days per week, on their in-person learning days (either Mon-Tues or Thursday - Friday.) The cost will be $36, and we accept state childcare subsidy as well as offer scholarships to families in need. Thrive will be following all health and safety guidance from VT state agencies as well as Winooski School District rules, including physical distancing, facial coverings for all children and staff, exclusion of sick children from the program, and frequent disinfecting of spaces and objects.
