These events are free and open to all and feature a Monkey House Beer Garden (cash only), free meals for kids 18 and younger, specials by participating Winooski businesses, and more.

Wicked Cool for Kids

Winooski Recreation and Parks have teamed up with Wicked Cool for Kids to provide after school and vacation programs! Wicked Cool For Kids is a STEAM Enrichment Program that helps children develop their understanding of the world, whether it is investigating essential concepts in science, art, or technology. Their programs let kids get their hands and minds around two different, but equally important, ways of seeing, experiencing, and understanding life. By using both sides of their brain, kids develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around them. We're offering two programs: Wicked Cool Med School (8/5 - 8/9) and Lego WeDo 2.0 (8/12 - 8/16).

Teddy Bear Picnic - 7/13/19

This family-friendly event is perfect for kids - bring your teddy bear and a picnic lunch to Landry Park. Enjoy teddy bear crafts, story time, a story walk, a teddy bear hunt, and gardening. Don’t forget to sign your teddy up for the “Best Dressed” contest for a chance to win cool prizes. Enjoy the beautiful weather and make some new friends!

Urban Camp Out - 7/20/19

Enjoy a night under the stars in Casavant Park with your neighbors and friends! There will be camp out activities, games, a moonlight walk, campfire, & s'mores!  You must bring a tent for your family/or yourself and sleeping gear. No alcohol, no smoking, or pets. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult!

Art in Nature

Enjoy this free art program which invites community members to express themselves artistically in Winooski’s beautiful public parks. Inspired by Andy Goldsworthy (famous sculptor, photographer, and environmentalist), this outdoor project facilitates an opportunity to create art by incorporating mindfulness, a renewed sense of excitement, inspiration, and peace of mind. Turning phones off or leaving them behind is encouraged in order to forget the day to day hassle and truly live in the present. This program is free (donations accepted)!
