Join your neighbors for Green Up Day in Winooski on Saturday, May 6! Pitch in and enjoy this annual statewide tradition by cleaning up public spaces in the community.

Grab your 'Green Up' bags on May 6:

• 8:30 AM - 2 PM @ the Winooski Senior Center, (123 Barlow Street) - light refreshments courtesy of Sarom’s Cafe
• 12 PM - 4 PM @ Four Quarters Brewing (70 Main St) - get a free hot dog and water for participating
• Staff and volunteers will be available for assistance and questions
• Once you've got your bag, feel free to 'Green Up' a location of your preference in Winooski
• Participants are encouraged to use the Green Up Day app. This is the official app for helping you organize a team, track your progress, find supplies, and get info. Download via the Apple Store or Google Play
• Green Up Bags can also be picked up early at the following locations until May 5:
  • O'Brien Community Center (32 Malletts Bay Ave) / Monday - Friday / 10 AM - 3 PM
  • Winooski City Hall (27 West Allen St) / Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday / 8 AM - 4 PM

Please read our Green Up Day guidelines before participating:

• Gloves and appropriate clothing (for sun and or rain) are recommended.
• Please do not pick up sharp or dangerous objects. Suspicious objects should be reported to the Winooski Police Department by using their non-emergency phone line: 802 655 0221
• Disposing of your filled Green Up Day bags: A dumpster will be provided in the Senior Center parking lot for Green Up bag disposal. You may also leave your sealed bags safely out of the way of vehicles and pedestrians near the location you picked up - the City will be picking up discarded bags after 12 PM and on Sunday, May 8th.
• If you would like to report any remaining Green Up Day bags that we may have missed, call or email Zahra Mohamed, Community Services Administrative and Outreach Coordinator: 802 655 1392 / zmohamed@winooskivt.gov 
• If you find or want to get rid of non-litter and large items (such as tires and household junk) please bring them to your preferred trash/recycling center. CSWD offers a helpful A - Z list of things they will accept.
