The City of Winooski is seeking engaged and dedicated residents to serve on our boards, commissions, and committees. These opportunities are an excellent way to get involved in the public process. Looking to get connected to your neighbors or discover a new way to give back to the community? Applicants with related experience, skill sets, and interests are encouraged to apply. Council and staff welcome diverse voices. If you've never served, we will do our best to support you.

Inclusion and Belonging Commission ๐ŸŒ

The Inclusion & Belonging Commission acts as an advisory group for the City Council with a focus on equitable policies and best practices for inclusion. The City of Winooski seeks to appoint members that are as diverse as our community. Given the policy role in advising the Council, a commitment to principles and best practices of equity and inclusion are paramount. Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every even-numbered month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec) at 6 PM.

Finance Commission ๐Ÿ’ฒ

The Finance Commission serves to advise the City Council on implementing the Economic Vitality section of the City’s Strategic Vision, where Winooski will "maintain and expand our economic development to ensure long-term vibrancy". Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 PM.

Safe, Healthy, Connected People Commission ๐Ÿ’š

The Safe, Healthy, Connected People Commission serves to advise City Council on implementing the Safe, Healthy, Connected People section of the City's Strategic Vision area, where Winooski will: "foster relationships across generations and cultures by providing a safe and healthy environment and providing opportunities to connect and engage with other residents of the City". Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM.

Winooski Memorial Library Committee - Youth Member ๐Ÿ“š

The Winooski Memorial Library Committee is now accepting applications for a Youth Member (student in or entering grades 8 - 12). Are you interested in learning more about the library? Are you knowledgeable about books and youth culture? Do you have a talent that you would love to share with our community? What programs, services, and changes do you want to see at the Winooski Memorial Library? This position runs through the school year (September - June). Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM. A scholarship is awarded at the end of the term!
