After months of careful consideration, the City of Winooski has made the difficult decision not to open the Myers Memorial Pool for the 2020 summer season due to the significant impacts of COVID-19. The State’s Executive Order restrictions severely delayed the construction schedule, leaving a limited possibility for appropriate staffing and operational management. Paired with ongoing uncertainties regarding group sizes, the City must put the health and safety of our residents first during this time.
The City and the construction team continue to work hard towards completion of the project, and the facility is looking fantastic. We understand the disappointment that may come with this decision, but we are excited for what 2021 holds and look forward to decades of swimming, splashing, and memories to come.
