The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is rehabilitating four bridges (Bridges 76 North and 76 South over Bay Road, and Bridges 77 North and 77 South over Mallett’s Creek) along Interstate 89 (I-89) in Colchester, Vermont. Construction will begin in April 2019 and be completed in October 2019. The project will include six weekend bridge closures, while maintaining two-way traffic on I-89.

The Colchester I-89 Bridges project will begin work on Monday, April 29th. Crews will be conducting survey, implementing erosion prevention and sediment control, and mobilizing for construction within the project area. Crews will be working Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM. Construction activities will require I-89 between Exit 16 and Exit 17 to be reduced to one lane in the non-peak direction throughout the week, expect delays.

TRAFFIC: Travel impacts include reducing I-89 northbound to one lane during the weekday AM peak hours (7 AM to 2 PM) and reducing I-89 southbound to one lane during the weekday PM peak hours (2 PM to 5 PM). The work scheduled to occur Monday through Friday, will require lane closures on I-89 between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM.
