[ARCHIVED] Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program

VT PUB

From the Vermont Department of Public Service:

Vermonters suffering economic hardship due to loss of income from COVID-19 can get help now to pay their arrearages for residential and non-residential accounts. The Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program (VCAAP) provides financial support to customers who may face disconnection of service because of past-due balances for their electric, landline telephone, Vermont Gas, private water or water and sewer/wastewater charges. Full details on this program are available here

Ready to apply?

  • Have a copy of the most recent bill(s) handy because you'll need to know the account number, service address, and the account holder's name
  • You do not need to upload a copy of your electric, natural gas, or regulated private water bill.
  • You may need to upload a copy of your telephone (does not apply to most traditional landline providers).

Step 1: click here to register

Eligible utility bills now include water and wastewater/sewer bills and electric, wired line telephone, and natural gas. You must apply before December 15, 2020. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funding runs out or the program ends in December. Funds for this program were made available through the federal CARES Act and the State of Vermont Coronavirus Relief Fund.

Find more information on the Department’s webpage at https://publicservice.vermont.gov/.
