[ARCHIVED] Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program

Vermonters suffering economic hardship due to loss of income from COVID-19 can get help now to pay their arrearages for residential and non-residential accounts. The Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program (VCAAP) provides financial support to customers who may face disconnection of service because of past-due balances for their electric, landline telephone, Vermont Gas, private water or water and sewer/wastewater charges. Ready to apply? 

  • Have a copy of the most recent bill(s) handy because you'll need to know the account number, service address, and the account holder's name 
  • You do not need to upload a copy of your electric, natural gas, or regulated private water bill.
  • You may need to upload a copy of your telephone (does not apply to most traditional landline providers).

Eligible utility bills now include water and wastewater/sewer bills and electric, wired line telephone, and natural gas. You must apply before December 15, 2020. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funding runs out or the program ends in December. Funds for this program were made available through the federal CARES Act and the State of Vermont Coronavirus Relief Fund.
