Winooski Police Department Police Officer, Full-Time - The Winooski Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. We are a progressive, community-oriented, 24-hour police department, serving a diverse population of over 7,500 residents in the heart of Chittenden County. WPD provides a wide range of police services for its residents and is a highly motivated, professional organization that embraces the Community Oriented Policing philosophy. Winooski Police Department Dispatcher, Full-Time - The dispatcher processes and directs, receives all oral and much of the written communications coming into the Police Department. By following established procedures and employing common sense, the Dispatcher performs highly responsible communications work in receiving and dispatching police, rescue, and fire emergency calls and messages to the appropriate authorities and personnel. The dispatcher maintains and retrieves records and files information for dissemination to patrol units and department personnel. The dispatcher has primary responsibility for the initial deployment of public safety personnel and equipment subject to the provisions of the applicable written directives. To apply,

By following established procedures and employing common sense, the Dispatcher performs highly responsible communications work in receiving and dispatching police, rescue and fire emergency calls and messages to the appropriate authorities and personnel. The dispatcher maintains and retrieves records and files information for dissemination to patrol units and department personnel. The dispatcher has primary responsibility for the initial deployment of public safety personnel and equipment subject to the provisions of the applicable written directives. Part-time Reserve Dispatchers cover shifts that are vacant due to leave of absence, vacations, or for special events when the department requires temporary additional staff on shift. To apply,

Part-Time, On-Call Firefighter The Part-Time, On-Call Firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. This work shall be done within the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s) of the Winooski Fire Department and City policy, within the following general categories: fire suppression, rescue, hazardous material responses, training, equipment, and station maintenance. Per Diem Firefighters A Per-Diem Firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen request for information or assistance. This work will be done within the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s) of the Winooski Fire Department and City policy, within the following general categories: fire suppression, rescue, hazardous material responses, fire prevention, training, equipment and station maintenance.
