Winooski Recreation and Parks have partnered with the Winooski Valley Park District to offer a new Nature Walk program for middle school students! 

Participants are invited to join us for 5 weeks of outdoor exploration at the Casavant Nature Area. Our Eco-Educators will teach students to use their senses and basic techniques while we discover and identify Winooski's native wildlife, plants, and trees. Jot your findings down in your very own ecological exploration journal (provided at no cost!)

• Free and open to middle school students grades 5 - 8
• March 31- April 28, 2021
• Wednesdays from 2 - 3 PM @ Casavant Nature Area (enter at the Winooski River Walk, before the meadow)

About Our Eco-Educators:

• Kate Nicoletti serves as the Youth Programs Coordinator VISTA for the City of Winooski. Kate has programmed and led many youth arts and culture classes through her previous employment in the museum and non-profit field.
• Meg Leonardi is currently pursuing an environmental major and a forestry minor at the University of Vermont. She spends her free time hiking, camping, and bird watching, using her environment as her informal classroom. Both Meg and Kate are thrilled to guide Winooski youth on their exploration of local parks and natural areas.
