[ARCHIVED] Winooski US-7 Concrete Repair Project Update 5.28.21

Concrete Project

Project Description: The Vermont Agency of Transportation will be rehabilitating the existing concrete roadway in an effort to improve the ride over the surface, and to extend the serviceable life of the concrete before major reconstruction is necessary. Treatment options will be evaluated during the design phase, though it is anticipated that work will include diamond grinding of the surface to improve smoothness and joint filling and repair using either a cementitious or asphaltic material. At this time, it is not anticipated that guardrails or signs will be included as part of the project. View the full project description here.

Location: This project begins on U.S. Highway 7 just after the bridge over the Winooski River and extends northerly along US 7 for 0.138 miles to the intersection with West Allen St., U.S. 7, and Vermont Route 15. This project includes the north and southbound entrances and exits to the circulator, as well as the concrete panels on West Allen St. at the intersection with U.S. 7 to the intersection with Follett Street.

Construction Activities: Crews were able to complete the grinding of the concrete panels last night (5/27). The contractor will move operations to Burlington and will not return to Winooski for approximately 3 weeks.

Traffic Impact: There will be no construction-related traffic impacts for the next several weeks.
