Sign Up For Free Youth Summer Programs in Winooski!

Summer Camps

The City of Winooski Community Services Department is providing FREE 2021 summer programming for kids! Registration is now open for all programs - these include weeklong summer camps, day programs, swimming activities at the Myers Memorial Pool, summer movie nights, and more. See our offerings below or visit to learn more and sign up today!

  • Information, forms, and registration assistance on all summer camps, programs, swim lessons, pool passes, and scholarships
  • On-site program registration and scholarship approval
  • On-site interpreters to assist (Swahili, Somali, Nepali, Arabic)

Art Camps ๐ŸŽจ

  • Grades 3 - 8 / August 9 - 13
  • We're offering two public art youth camps in collaboration with Juniper Creative Arts! In graffiti art camp, participants will learn how to create unique graffiti art using a variety of techniques. The camp will culminate in the creation of a piece of artwork on the side of the O'Brien Community Center. In Mural Art Camp, kids will learn basic art skills and techniques while working towards the goal of beautifying the front of the O'Brien Community Center.

Chill Skate ๐Ÿ›น

  • Grades 5 - 12 / July 29, August 5, August 12
  • We've partnered with CHILL to offer a free skate program for Winooski youth grades 5 - 12! Participants will spend the evening at Landry Skatepark each week where they will work with CHILL instructors to learn the basics of skateboarding - no previous experience is required!

Improv Camp ๐ŸŽญ

  • Ages 11 - 14 / August 16 - 20 
  • We've partnered with the Vermont Comedy Club for our Winooski Improv Summer Camp! This camp offers a space for youth to exercise their creative energies through improvisational comedy. Campers will play fun improv games to help access creativity, boost self-confidence, and develop spontaneity and playfulness. It’s a week-long immersive comedy experience for students that culminates in a special camper performance.

Outdoor Basketball Camp ๐Ÿ€

  • Grades K - 10 / July 19 - August 6
  • This program provides an opportunity for youth participants in grades K - 10 to hone their skills and improve their game. We've partnered with coaches at the Winooski School District to provide engaged player support and education. Enjoy a series of drills and spend the afternoon playing small-sided scrimmages at the outdoor basketball court at JFK Elementary.

Outdoor Storytime ๐Ÿ“š

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays Through September 7
  • Join the Winooski Memorial Library Outdoor Storytime! We'll be reading our favorite books, singing songs, doing a little dancing, and sharing in the fun.

Pool to Paddle Camp ๐ŸŒŠ

  • Grades 3 - 5 / August 9 - 13
  • Winooski Recreation and Parks have partnered with the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center to offer a free summer camp for Winooski youth grades 3 - 5! Participants will spend the first three days of camp engaged in a variety of recreational activities, from swimming at the newly renovated Myers Memorial Pool to kickball and tag. For the last two days of camp, we will be taking a field trip over to the Community Sailing Center in Burlington for paddling explorations on the waterfront.

Rosie's Girls ๐Ÿ”ง

  • Middle School students / August 2 - 6
  • Rosie's Girls is a weeklong free camp for female and gender non-conforming middle schoolers! We've partnered with Vermont Works for Women to provide a week of empowering and educational programming featuring hands-on skills development activities. In addition, we're also celebrating summer with swim lessons at the brand new Myers Memorial Pool!

Summer Movie Nights ๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿฟ

  • Free and Open to All / Select Dates in July, August, September
  • After spending a day splashing around at the Myers Memorial Pool, hop across the street to Landry Park for a family-friendly outdoor movie. Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages!

Swim Lessons ๐ŸŠ‍โ™€๏ธ

Youth Innertube Waterpolo ๐Ÿคฝ‍โ™‚๏ธ 

  • Grades 5 - 8 / All Summer
  • Innertube water polo is a team sport in which teams of 6 navigate in their innertubes to try and pass and move the ball with the objective of getting the ball into their opponent’s net to score points. Participants will be taught the rules of the game and then play recreational scrimmages.
