Election petitions are now available, the deadline for filing a petition is Monday, January 24, 2022, by 5 PM. Petitions must include a minimum of 30 signatures, although we recommend acquiring more. Petitions can be obtained by:

Completed petitions must be filed in person at the City Clerk's Office. Please note: as of 2019, voters may now sign as many candidate petitions as they want, even for the same office, regardless of how many seats are being elected. This means that, if you have already signed a petition for one candidate for an office, and you receive a petition from another candidate for the same office, you can sign both petitions if interested. A voter’s signature can be counted on multiple petitions (per 17 V.S.A. § 2681).

Questions regarding petitions can be sent to Jenny Willingham, City Clerk: jwillingham@winooskivt.gov
